I completed my second 60+ mile week pretty well, although tired and thankfully there was no RAIN today! I’ve got a sore right thigh muscle from Thursdays run (when I first felt it throbbing). It doesn’t bother me once I get moving on it, so I know its just sore, just not sure how I did it. The muggy August weather is keeping me dehydrating, so i’m drinking a TON of fluids long after the runs are completed..
As I get ready for even more miles this week, I realize its just 5 short weeks until the first marathon. I think i’ve had a rebound this week in my performance, and only expect it to get better. I have no injuries of any sort, my mid-section scars have healed and my rotator cuff is getting better everyday, it barely bothers me now. My biggest issue is that i’m just hungry … craving carbs, I guess it goes with running 64 miles in a week. Thats a lot of miles.
I modified my race schedule and still plan to run the Philly marathon in November, just haven’t registered yet. I don’t think they’ll fill up (or at least I hope they don’t). I’ve made hotel reservations, which was the issue last year, just holding off a few weeks until some things change before I register… worst case is we can do Harrisburg again, I enjoyed that…
