So as I expected, i’ve been busier than ever with the new job. I don’t even have time to report on anything right now until I get a good schedule down on when to do what. I know what this is all about when I changed jobs in the spring, so it’ll take a few days (or a week or two) just to get things set again.
Tomorrow starts my official ‘carb load’, so i’ll start consuming tons of carbs, along with tons of water so that I can bloat myself out for the weekend. It should be fun. I completed my last formal training run this morning, getting in 7 miles … I got 6 in yesterday and 2.5 in on Monday, so I think i’m ready to rock .. my times were considerably good and I feel strong afterward, so its gone well. I’m ready to race!
The big issue right now is the weather for Sunday, its supposed to be fairly warm out (start in the upper 50’s, end in the low 80’s) .. it will be a struggle to stay hydrated and more or so to stay cool throughout the race, but I think we’ll survive. I made it through those brutal days in August when it was hot, so I don’t anticipate a problem. It might be nice to not be all bundled up in the beginning, so I’m looking forward to it.
So thats about it for now, not much else going on right now … the official countdown is on … 83 hours to go until the race…
