So as expected i stepped on the scale on Monday morning and found that I was at 191 pounds, ugh, not so good … it does mean I have some work to do, but i’m up to the challenge. I have a little more time on my hands now (at least for the next week) to focus on training, so I expect to meet my expectations and be prime for the upcoming races.

I got a 4 miler in on Monday, and then 8 miles today … I got my pace back today I think, but I can feel that i’m kind of out of shape compared to where I was. I did the 8 miler in 1 hour 6 minutes, which isn’t bad (just over an 8:15/mile pace) but my 4 miler suffered. I didn’t have to get up quite so early to run, so i’m enjoying the sunshine for now.

I expect to get my 12 miler in tomorrow morning (again, not real early), and then head to the track for Thursday.. I may skip my day off on Friday since I have nothing else to do at this point except train, but still take it easy to get the 21 miler in on Saturday. I have to adjust my favorite long run course down in the Kingston/Exeter area, I really want to cut Exeter out, I’m not interested in running through there anymore, but we’ll make the adjustment.

So less than 6 weeks to go .. I added a countdown to the homepage for the first marathon and will adjust it for each subsequent race, just something a little different I guess …
