I’ve been trying to deal with some pain i’ve been getting in my right ACL region, and after digging into a bit more, I don’t think its so much the ACL, but more the heal. Its just real sore… I don’t think there is anything broken or fractured or anything, its just gets real sore at certain times. I may head up for new shoes and have decided to start treating it like an injury, you know, the whole routine of ibuprofen, ice, using the heal pad, etc.

This doesn’t mean i’ll take it easy, as there is now just 14 weeks until the next marathon and summer is in full swing. The weather is finally breaking now, and i’m hoping there are no more COLD morning .. do you believe I actually wore gloves on Tuesday? Thats how cold it was…

Regardless, I have decided to not run the West Pittston run this weekend, I just don’t feel the need to do it I guess.. its only 4 miles, but throws off my training quite heavily, I just don’t see the need. There were rumors that we might be getting together a triathlon team again this year if we can find a swimmer …

So i’m just under 50 miles this past week and will do about the same this week as I formally add pace and speed work to my training again. It was amazing that as I did the first real ‘pace’ run this morning at the dyke (which has marked miles), I still went out too fast, I mean real fast … hopefully the continual pace work will keep my head on straight to NOT go out too fast ..

Well, thats about all that happening for now, just keeping an eye on the heal .. hopefully it will get better before it gets worse …
