So much so, that I believe I have strained my quadriceps in my left leg. I wrote on both Sunday and Monday about how my quads were really burning after the race, well even into Tue’;
Its been a few days since I’ve updated the blog, i’ve just been wrapped up different things, however I didn’t forget about running in that time. So much so, that I believe I have strained my quadriceps in my left leg. I wrote on both Sunday and Monday about how my quads were really burning after the race, well even into Tuesday and Wednesday they were still sore, however it seemed to have subsided up until this morning when I did 8 miles … about a 1/3 of the way into the run, it really flared up in my left leg, so I think its something more serious.
If I recall from the marathon on Sunday, it started bothering me pretty early on in the race, and I finished the race with it. Usually by this time, it should have gone away, but it hasn’t. Plus it bothers me when I walk … so i’m scheduled to be off tomorrow anyway, and may even bag the weekend as well, or take it VERY easy this weekend (basically no long run). I need to get it healed up for the Steamtown Marathon coming up in just a few weeks…
Its ironic how I wrote about taking it easy the other day after the marathon and you can do multiple marathons, but I guess I don’t follow my own advice. I did go out kind of fast today, I just have a lot of my mind I guess, and I just wasn’t thinking.
I guess I’ll enjoy the rest, not too much more to share, we’ll see how this injury plays out … time to get the ibuprofen, ice and ace bandage ready …
