It was a return to the long run today, picking up 9.7 miles (I misjudged the distance when I set the course) instead of 9 miles. I get bummed on the fact that my knees get so sore and swollen after even small distances, but afterward, there is no pain, so I just can’t figure it out. Either way, my hope is that the soreness and swelling goes away as the training continues and I strengthen my ‘core muscles’. I think it will.

The run overall was pretty good, as I completed the second to the last week before formal training starts. I have a race on memorial day monday down in Forty Fort (5 miles), i’m not expecting to run real fast, but I have to set the bar in order to succeed in my training (remember the Bear Creek run???).
