I wrote yesterday about how I was planning on running a local 5K tonight, however i’ve decided not to. In doing my speed workout this morning, my left groin is quite sore, it was actually quite sore for more than 6 of the 8 miles I did, so I’m thinking I better give it a rest. I eased off the speed for the last 4 miles and everything so I didn’t pull it. I don’t feel its anything major, but the fact its complaining and telling me its there, certainly means something.

This exact thing is the reason why I haven’t been consistent in doing speedwork during training. It seems that every time I do any sort of speed work, I end up getting an injury of some sort, so I drop it, this is no exception. I think i’m too close to the marathon season now to blow it all with a pulled groin.

Regardless, i’m eating like a pig now that my miles are so high .. i just can’t stop. I’ve eaten almost 3 boxes of cereal in the last two days, not to mention the tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad, etc … I just can’t get enough, good thing i’m keeping the miles up.

So my plan for the next 38 hours is just to rest .. i need to heal up for the 22 miler on Saturday. I think just keeping some heat on it, and keeping it stretched will do me a lot of good …
