So my plan of getting back to the gym was accelerated by the fact that it got very cold outside, very quick. Its really too cold to be recreationally running outside in my opinion, so I’ve resorted to being the gym. Its tough to run on the treadmill after being outside for so many months, and tomorrow we’re even expecting snow, so its a good time to stay inside.
The problem is that I’ve cut the miles back, pretty heavy actually, probably more than I’d like to. I have to get the miles back up a bit around the holiday so I can make sure I achieve my goals for next year. I initially plan to do the Pretzel City runs in the spring, all of them because I need the experience of running trails to complete my full goals. I might run the 10 miler in Cape May again (NOT THE MARATHON) as I head into training for my first 50K at the end of June. In there I still intend to run a marathon during the first weeks of May as a training run, and maybe another one in the beginning of June as planned (Gods Country)… I then plan to jump right into training possible for a 50 miler then in November… which is another ultramarathon. So I’ve made the plan to elevate myself from doing marathons, to doing ultra-marathons. I’m choosing this instead of doing triathlons, since I already have everything I need to run (and I really enjoy it).
So now its just time to get myself rested, which i’m doing, and more importantly catch up on life as best as I can. I have a ton going on so I have to get things in order first, but I know i’ll do it.
Thats about it for now, i’ll keep updating as I can although there isn’t much ‘marathon’ news going on right now in the off-season, just enjoying the rest.
