Haven’t forgotten!

Its been a crazy week after breaking my PR at Harrisburg last weekend. I returned from San Francisco yesterday and didn’t run, and got out this morning for a good, quick 5 miler. I really kicked but on it (doing 5 miles in under 41 minutes, impressive).

I’m not sure if I wrote about it or not, but I was concerned about my sinuses last weekend prior to the marathon, well it appears I have a raging double ear infection going on right now. I went to the doctor yesterday because I couldn’t hear anymore (well, I could hear, but not well I guess) and i’m ripe with infection. So just like after my other marathons at this time of the year, I have a sinus infection. I guess, just maybe, it could be due to the fact i’m running early outside, in the cold, and sweating? Well, I guess thats the case. Regardless, i’m trying to get well right now so I can run the Diamonds on Thursday (thanksgiving) .. the infection along with the tiredness from traveling and jet-lag and all is killing me, but i’ll be okay.

So where to go from here, well, its planning time for the spring. I got a bad recommendation on the New Jersey Marathon next year, so I probably won’t do that one now, so I’ll have to find another one I guess. I still think i’ll do the Pretzel City runs, but we’ll have to see.

I intend to start running at the YMCA now since its going to be brutally cold this week, no sense making my infection worse. It kind of starts the transition into the gym from being outside, and i’m looking forward to the cross-training a bit (just a little bit), although I hate to stop running so much when i’m peaking in my running. I guess there is always next year.

So the Diamond run is Thursday, i’ll do A race on Sunday, not sure if i’ll do the Jingle Bell, or the more local race at Misericordia, guess we’ll see how I feel. That will be a wrap until New Years Eve … then on to next year!
