i’ve already struggled in my first taper week for the ocean drive marathon. I intended to get out after work on Tuesday and run, but couldn’t because I had to stay late. and it was BEAUTIFUL OUT! I was so mad. Anyway, I got out this morning, at 5am outside to get 6 miles in and intend to do the same tomorrow morning and then again on Friday. I’ll probably do a little longer run on Saturday, then Sunday a decent 11-12 miles and then take it easy all week and get ready for the carbo-load ….

Its hard to believe the marathon is almost here, and I feel pretty well ready for it. My left knee is a little sore, and has been since sunday, but it doesn’t bother me to run on it. I think I just tweeked something the other day.

I’m worried most about being able to keep my weight down prior to the carbo-load. I know that i’m not in the greatest shape to run the marathon, but I know we’ll make it through. It’ll be tough, but I’ll do it. I intend on taking my Sirius stiletto to the race, since its liable to be boring and i’m so used of running with it, i don’t know how to make it through without it.

The long range forecast for the 25th is looking like low 40’s in the morning and 50’s during the day, so it should be a decent day so far for a marathon. I hope that holds up. I mean its still 10 days out, so anything can happen, but i’m being hopeful. As long as there is no rain or frigid cold, i’ll be okay.

Anyway, on to the road, gotta get some rest …….
