Its been quite awhile since I last updated my running blog, however I have completed my move to the beautiful Lehigh Valley. Its been a rough couple of weeks with moving and all, and running wasn’t a big priority so I kind of fell off a little. I also haven’t yet planned for the spring, not sure what we’re going to do yet, but most importantly I have to get back on track. The worst part is that i’ve put on weight, and it’ll be hard to get it off, but I know we can do it.

So now that i’m stationary again, we can focus on running. I started out this week by getting a few 3 or 4 milers in before work, and got 7.25 miles in today. I plan to get another 7 miles in tomorrow as I explore the new area I live in. Thats probably the best part is that I have a whole new set of running courses and areas to explore, and as I wrote when I finished the Lehigh Valley marathon in September, I have the rails to trails to run as well, if I can find them where i’m at. The funny thing is that even though i’m about 65 miles south of where I was, it seems warmer, even though the temperatures were the same. Its hard to explain, but maybe since there aren’t as many mountains and valleys here, the temperature is more stable, I guess I don’t know.

Its amazing how fast you lose your aerobic ability though .. it really didn’t help that I flopped at the Marine Corps Marathon in late October, but I really had a lot on my mind at the time. It only took what, about 6 weeks to really fall off the wagon. I did write about how my body was killing me there for awhile, although I think my body has FINALLY healed up from all the poundings it took during the marathon seasons of 2008.

So will it be the Ocean Drive marathon in the spring? Or will I try something else? I guess I just don’t know right now. I’m only about 20 miles from Reading, where they have the Pretzel City runs, you know, the wacky trail runs and all .. it might be worthwhile to try a half marathon on those courses, or even shorter distances, we’ll have to see.

I’m excited to be back, hopefully i’ll be posting more and updating the content on the website ..
