I’ve returned from the Baltimore Running Festival .. and what a great experience. I finished strong and never hit the wall like I did a few weeks back, this keeping the pace thing really works!
I finished in 4:06 (chip time), the official results for the Baltimore Marathon are posted here (and pretty quick I might say). Remember that my goal was to finish, and to finish strong regardless of the time, and I really did it. Its really a different race when you’re not obsessing over PR’ing… I managed to keep 9:10-9:30 pace for the first 10 miles, which allowed me to keep the same pace through miles 18-26 .. and the hills were what I expected, quite a few, although none that were as bad as what I trained on.
I’ll post a full race report either later or tomorrow with pictures and everything, i’m pretty tired since I had to drive home after the race today .. its time to rest a bit, pig out (lasagna!) and to start thinking about the Philly marathon in a few weeks to wrap up the season. I really needed a good day today, and I got it! Thanks to everyone who wished me well, it certainly worked!
