My post race report for the 1/2 Sauer, 1/2 Kraut marathon today should be ready tomorrow, i’m just too tired to do it today. Just wanted to post real quick ..

As I tweeted earlier today, it was a struggle for everyone out there .. and I mean everyone. The start temperature was 72* about 45 minutes before the start, so it probably got warmer by the start. It was hot, very hot and humid .. there was no way I could hit my goal pace in the heat even after constantly consuming water, so I bagged my goal time pretty early (and after speaking with others, they did too). We ended up in a downpour by the end … which actually felt good. So heat, humidity, rain, sun .. what more could you ask for?

Well, how about a 4:40? Yeah, far from my goal, but I did come in 85th place overall and after run/walking for the last 5 miles, I only had 7 people pass me over that 5 mile distance .. my guess is it was tough for everyone. Just a quick and special thanks for all the great volunteers at the water stops after mile 13, they were SO helpful in filling up our fuel-belt bottles at every water stop..

Anyway, it was about having fun today, and I really did despite the conditions.. lots of great people, lots of great food, so i’m not upset about it at all..
