
I just got an email from the folks at the Lehigh Valley Health Network marathon reminding everyone that the race is just 25 days away … WOW. Its hard to believe we’re that close already, but it’ll be here before I know it. Baltimore is then not too far behind that, I believe we’re less than 50 days until that marathon ..
So my training is going well, i’m starting to tire out like I did last week due to work and just not sleeping well, so its a recipe for a bad weekend. I’m being hopeful that i’ll stay on track and keep the intensity up, catch up on my sleep and have a great weekend. I need a solid 21 miler this weekend at least to get the confidence for the start of marathon season, then another 21-22 miler just a few days later as I prepare to travel the following weekend to Connecticut. Then its into the taper already …
My knees have calmed down again, I went swimming on Sunday and my knees were REAL sore for the rest of the day .. especially the one that has been bothering me. I think it was just overuse, but hasn’t bothered me much since then. My cuts and chafes are starting to heal, just in time to flair up again this weekend in the hot and humid conditions..
Oh well, I know I’ll look back next February when its 10 degrees outside and wish i could run in the heat, so its all relative I guess.
