I realize now that since i’m not formally training, that I don’t even update my blog anymore, but its not a bad thing since i don’t really have too many exciting things to say. I find that life is more interesting and theres more to write about when I’m training. Believe it or not, we’re on 5 weeks out from the start of training for the NJ marathon, the Gods Country marathon and then the Finger Lakes 50K… it should be a great spring!
So I have still been running, keeping the intensity up, but cutting back the miles a bit averaging only around 25-28 miles per week. I do crosstrain and stretch, and have done some weights, although i’m not faithful to it right now. I think after the holiday i’ll get more serious and start getting mentally ready to train again.
I did head out on a course that I ran dozens of time throughout the summer, and only ran it 2-3 minutes slower than I did when I was training, so it does show that i’ve lost some of my speed, but I guess thats expected since I’m not in training.
Nothing more exciting to say right now, except that its almost time to start thinking spring once the holiday is done here. I’ve thankfully kept most of the weight off for now, and after the holiday, i’ll be home free because its EASY to keep slim at that point.
I hope to write again soon … stay tuned, spring is coming!
