I got so involved in posting the pictures from the last two marathons that I never wrote about the fall schedule. I did finally register for 3 of 4 marathons in the fall, I just have to register for Philly yet. I have completed my week of recovery and taking it easy as they say (if you call a 37 mile week a recovery week). There are only 15 weeks until the next marathon, but with it being summer now, I have the opportunity to kick it up another notch and break another PR in the fall…
The intention is to get back to doing actual speedwork again instead of just making a pace run at the end of the week. I really feel I need to get that in order to make it to the next level .. I did find the best way that I can achieve this by actually working out one night after work, instead of before work. There is a track right next to where i work, so I’ll take my stuff to work, change when i’m done with work and head to the track, then come afterward… we’ll see how it works out. The question is, what speed plan to do I follow? I have to figure that out I guess, and get the actual training planned out now for the next 24 weeks when it all comes to an end again.
So I kick back into it this week again, starting a little slower, and possibly hitting close to 70 miles by the end of summer, WOW! We’ll see if we make it though, we need to hope we can stay injury free running that many miles!
