Its hard to think that its after July 4th already, but there are still almost 3 good months of outside running left before it gets brutal again… I think the training is going well, despite the rotator cuff injury from 2 weeks ago, it doesn’t seem to really bother me at all when i’m running though (but it does hurt otherwise).
I just hit the max miles before a stepback, in achieving 63.25 miles this week. I’m not sure how i get that many miles in these days. The worst part is that I don’t expect to get a 20 miler in next weekend. I just finished 4 20-miler weeks in a row, i’ll do another 20 the following weekend, then i’m at the beach for the weekend, so again, i’ll miss the long run. That leaves me about 5 weeks of getting 22 milers in each weekend (with 12-14 mile followups the next day) before the Lehigh Valley marathon in the beginning of September. I think I feel pretty good still, just tired, I haven’t been sleeping well.
The surprising thing is the amount of weight I keep off … I was still at like 183 last week when I weighed in, and i’m eating like a pig (well, not really). I always joke about my ‘eating disorder’, in that all I eat is fruit, cereal and toast. Its pretty sad, but it keeps me going.
I’m about ready to trash the Sirius Stiletto, apparently its giving me the ‘No Antennae Detected’ message AGAIN! I’ve had this thing for a year and half, had it replaced last summer and now I have to call again. I have a feeling that it won’t be covered by the standard warranty anymore, so it might be time to get a new MP3 player. I did get a free iPod shuffle 2 weeks ago, so we may take that and use that instead..
Anyway, hopefully I can keep the miles up this week and i’ll report in when I can … hopefully with a more meaningful post ..
