I just finished up the most difficult week since I finished the Lehigh Valley Hospital Marathon 3 weeks ago .. I got in 62.5 miles this week, up from 58 miles last week. I still missed my overall goal of 64 miles because I had to cut Wednesday’s run short due to traveling. Regardless I think I had a good week either way, my times are getting better although I still don’t expect to break a PR, or even come close, for the Steamtown marathon in two weeks, the goal is really to finish.

As I wrote yesterday, its pretty rainy in the northeast right now, so both yesterday and today featured lots of rain, puddles, mud, etc. I still had strong runs despite the rain, I just hope the weather clears up so my shoes can dry out a little, they’re really wet…

I’ve modified my fall schedule, removing Philly for the time being since I’m anticipating that i’ll be in a state of flux over the next few weeks, which is another reason why i don’t expect a great time at Steamtown. I’ve also removed the Diamond run since i’m not sure what will be happening at Thanksgiving time, so thats up in the air… I’ll explain more once things get put in stone, hopefully this week. My hope is that I can replace Philly with another marathon more ‘south’ then where I am right now, but we’ll have to see.

I don’t think i’m doing bad, despite the quadriceps injury I had after the first marathon, and the motivation problem i’ve been dealing with. Thankfully it seems that both have passed and we can concentrate on running and brighter days ahead .. literally!
